Russia sentences Hydra marketplace founder to life in prison

Stanislav Moiseyev, the founder of the criminal drugs platform Hydra, has been sentenced to life in prison by Russian authorities. Along with 15 accomplices, Moiseyev was charged with organizing a criminal drugs enterprise and fined 4 million rubles. The accomplices received fines totaling 16 million rubles and prison sentences ranging from eight to 23 years. Hydra, which operated from 2015 to 2018, processed nearly $3.2 billion worth of crypto through high-risk exchanges, with $780 million transacted between Binance and Hydra. The organization was seized and shut down by the US in 2022.
