David Schwartz, the CTO of Ripple, has predicted that Bitcoin will remain the top cryptocurrency for a long time due to network effects rather than technology. However, he did not rule out the possibility of things changing overnight. This comes amidst a feud between Bitcoin proponents and the XRP community, with accusations that Ripple is obstructing the introduction of a strategic Bitcoin reserve. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse seemingly confirmed advocating for a multi-token reserve, which drew criticism from Bitcoin maximalists. Schwartz's prediction comes as Ripple recently announced it owns over $100 billion worth of XRP.
