According to a Polymarket contract, there is a 70% chance that the trade war between Canada and the U.S. will be resolved by May. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated that President Donald Trump is open to negotiation. Initially, tariffs were implemented on all products entering the U.S. from Canada and Mexico, but Lutnick's remarks suggested a potential avenue for negotiation. Lutnick's comments also had a calming effect on the crypto markets, with bitcoin up 1.5% and the CoinDesk 20 index up 2%.
