EA Capital receives VASP license in South Africa

EA Capital, a digital asset firm based in Cape Town, South Africa, has obtained a Category I license as a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) from the country's Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). The license allows EA Capital to offer a range of digital asset services, including prime brokerage, liquidity provision, over-the-counter trading, derivatives, foreign exchange, and international payments. CEO Ryan Aufrichtig highlighted the company's experience and expertise in both traditional finance and crypto, and praised South Africa's approach to regulating the sector. This move comes as South Africa increases its digital asset regulations, in contrast to many other African nations that have kept digital assets on the fringes.
