Scammers are targeting supporters of former President Donald Trump who bought memorabilia as part of his campaign. These fraudulent schemes often promised that the purchased items would increase in value once Trump became president. The scams involve asking victims to pay transaction fees in cryptocurrency to claim large rebates or profits, which never materialize. One victim in Alabama lost over $152,000 in this type of scam. Some scammers operate on platforms like Telegram and X, and victims have been urging these platforms to take action. The scams exploit psychological triggers and the belief in Trump's brand and power. The only compensation given to supporters who bought memorabilia from the Trump campaign was a token airdrop which had a capped value for everyone, regardless of how much they spent.
