Wistaverse: Making Real Impact with Virtual Protest

Wistaverse, the world's first global virtual protest platform, has been launched to provide a unique and safe space for activism and real impact. Powered by blockchain technology and Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Wistaverse allows supporters of causes to donate in a secure and transparent way.

In collaboration with human rights organization Amnesty International (AI), the platform is kicking off its first campaign dedicated to Women's rights and abortion, set to take place between 13th–14th May and feature appearances by activists and celebrities. The aim of the initiative is to educate the public and promote non-violent alternatives to physical protests.

The Wistaverse virtual environment is aimed to open up a space for global participation and universal access, regardless of the location of participants. To make it possible, it uses a proxy system and zero-knowledge proofs to ensure anonymity. Donations to AI and other causes are enabled via HURRA NFTs and Wistaverse’s utility token $WISTA, with all proceeds going directly to the causes, without an intermediary.

The launch of Wistaverse is a part of The Sandbox open metaverse, providing users of the metaverse with the means to coordinate and undertake campaigns associated with any subjects they choose. It also brings in significant social changes, given the increasing worldwide protests due to political oppression, economic downturns, and climate change, resulting in a 12% spike in protests over the last 10 years. The platform enables mass virtual protests, allowing users to make their voices heard without experiencing violence, which is ironically known to accompany physical protests.

Decentralized fundings on the platform, with 0.5% of the transactions taken to the treasury, ensures Wistaverse’s compliance and responsibility, preventing any extremist organizations from misuse of the platform.

CCO and co-founder of The Sandbox, Sebastiean Borgetexpressed his enthusiasm over collaboration, saying ‘with over 4.5 million registered wallets, having Wistaverse part of our community ensures that its voices are heard’.
