Pharmacies in Ukraine are now able to accept payments in cryptocurrency through Binance Pay

Ukraine is progressing with the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments through the crypto exchange Binance, even while in the midst of its conflict with Russia.

In Ukraine, pharmacies are transitioning to digital payments due to the ongoing conflict, with one prominent chain allowing customers to pay with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

ANC Pharmacy, one of the largest drug store chains in the nation, has teamed up with Binance Ukraine to launch a contactless crypto payment system called Binance Pay that allows customers to pay with digital currencies.

On Jan. 3, ANC Pharmacy announced that it was now allowing customers to make instantaneous payments when buying pharmacy items online.

The pharmacy company has over a thousand outlets located in Ukraine and provides an online pharmacy service. It was declared that Binance Pay will be launched in Kyiv to begin with.

This payment option will be available in both ANC pharmacies and ANC Pharmacy-run stores. The announcement said that ANC, Kopiyka and Shara are the first pharmacies in Europe to accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment.

To pay with cryptocurrency, users must first download the Binance app and visit ANC's website. After selecting the desired item for purchase, customers will be able to use Binance Pay to complete the transaction and collect their order from a designated spot.

In the past few years, Binance has been actively increasing its presence in Ukraine. In September 2022, Binance joined forces with the Ukrainian supermarket chain Varus, making it possible for customers to utilize the Binance Pay Wallet to purchase groceries.

Kirill Khomyakov, the general manager of Binance Ukraine, declared that introducing a Binance Card to Ukraine was one of their main goals for 2022. Khomyakov emphasized that using services such as Binance Card to make crypto payments is not illegal in Ukraine, as there is no prohibition on cryptocurrency-based transactions. Conversely, direct payments with digital currencies like Bitcoin are prohibited by Ukrainian laws.
