Turkish law firm GlobalB has taken the country's crypto payment ban to court, arguing that it is important for Turkey's digital asset economy. The first hearing of the lawsuit will be held on May 28, 2025, at the Council of State. GlobalB believes that lifting the ban on crypto payments will support the development of the financial sector and make Turkey a more attractive market for blockchain initiatives. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey imposed the ban in April 2021, citing concerns about the lack of regulation and control mechanisms, volatility, and the potential for illegal activities.
