President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Paul Atkins, founder and CEO of Patomak Global Partners, to head the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Atkins, who previously served as a commissioner at the agency under former President George W. Bush, is a co-chair of the Digital Chamber's Token Alliance and an advisor to Reserve Rights. Unlike some of Trump's other picks, Atkins is seen as an old-guard figure who is unlikely to radically change the agency. He will succeed outgoing SEC Chair Gary Gensler, who has been known for taking enforcement actions against crypto companies.
