The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) has announced that it will be granting a total of 7 BTC (approximately $706,000) to 20 different projects worldwide as part of its Bitcoin Development Fund grants. The fund aims to support projects that enhance the Bitcoin ecosystem, with a particular focus on regions with oppressive regimes. The winning projects include open-source software and mining pools that aim to make Bitcoin more accessible and decentralized. Among the grant recipients are Naiyoma, the first female Bitcoin core developer from Africa, and Daniella Brozzoni, a developer contributing to Bitcoin Core. The funding is expected to support their work in advancing Bitcoin Core and promoting decentralization.
