In a joint operation with Dutch authorities and the United States Secret Service, Tether, the largest company in the digital assets industry, assisted in taking down two major cryptocurrency exchanges involved in money laundering activities. The exchanges, Cryptex and pm2btc, were suspected of facilitating the conversion of cryptocurrencies into national currencies for criminals. Working alongside law enforcement and Chainalysis, Tether froze €7 million worth of cryptocurrency and various wallets linked to the exchanges. This collaboration highlights Tether's commitment to combating the illicit use of stablecoins and supporting global law enforcement efforts. Tether has worked with over 180 law enforcement agencies across 45 jurisdictions, blocking more than $1.8 billion in assets tied to illicit activities.
