Taproot Wizards, a Bitcoin ordinals project, plans to raise over $34 million by auctioning 2,121 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of its "magic internet JPEGs," featuring Microsoft Paint-style cartoon wizards. The NFTs were inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain two years ago and will be available for sale later this month. The project previously sold a collection of 3,000 "Quantum Cats" to raise support for a Bitcoin improvement proposal. The Wizards will be initially offered to buyers on a whitelist for 0.2 BTC ($16,000), with any remaining NFTs being sold in a Dutch auction. Taproot Wizards aims to bring back the Bitcoin improvement proposal that was removed from the code by Satoshi Nakamoto. The project recently raised $30 million in funding for OP_CAT-related applications.
