Suilend, a DeFi lending and borrowing platform, has introduced SpringSui, a new standard for liquid staking tokens (LSTs) on the Sui network. With the launch of sSUI, the first LST under this new framework, Suilend aims to increase participation in staking, expand liquidity, and offer yield-generating possibilities on the Sui network. The protocol-level upgrades SIP-31 and SIP-33 establish a token standard that accelerates the expansion of LSTs on Sui. Through the use of sSUI, users can stake SUI and utilize the LST representation of their staked assets on Suilend and other DeFi platforms. The SpringSui Standard, developed by 0xripleys, is open-sourced and available to all Sui developers to promote liquid staking adoption. Prominent LST provider Aftermath has pledged to incorporate the SpringSui standard in their products. Suilend plans to further encourage LST adoption by allowing anyone to create and manage their own LST. The launch of SpringSui marks a significant step towards achieving this goal.
