Popular Kick streamer Adin Ross and gaming influencer Richard "FaZe Banks" Bengtson have announced plans to create a crypto-infused custom server for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) once the game is released. The server would have an in-game crypto economy and use a newly-made coin. However, there is a history of Rockstar Games, the creator of the GTA franchise, banning player-run servers that incorporate cryptocurrencies, crypto assets, or NFTs. In 2022, Rockstar prohibited the usage of crypto in GTA Online, leading to the closure of many servers. While there are rumors that GTA 6 may feature in-game Bitcoin rewards, Rockstar has not commented on the subject. Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, acquired mobile publisher Zynga in 2022 and hinted at exploring "Web3 opportunities" but the Zynga crypto gaming team later spun out to create D20 Labs. Based on Rockstar's current stance, it is doubtful that Ross and Banks will be able to operate a crypto-fueled GTA 6 server.
