The auction house Sotheby's is hosting an exhibition featuring the works of the autonomous artist Botto, created by Mario Klingemann in collaboration with ElevenYellow. The exhibition, titled "Exorbitant Stage: Botto, a Decentralized AI Artist," opened on Oct. 17 and will close on Oct. 24. The exhibition showcases six works by Botto, with estimated earnings of between $220,000 and $310,100. Botto's works have been selling out on NFT marketplace OpenSea, with prices reaching as high as 11.99 Ethereum. Botto's creative process involves generating thousands of images autonomously and presenting them to stakeholders for voting. The image with the highest votes is minted and sold. The debut exhibition at Sotheby's highlights the intersection between human and machine creativity and challenges preconceptions about artistic expression.
