The Singapore Police Force is investigating the sale of Worldcoin accounts and tokens by seven individuals suspected of violating the Payment Services Act. While Worldcoin does not currently fall under the classification of a payment service, those involved in trading accounts and tokens may be offering a payment service without proper authorization. Five individuals have already been arrested in connection with the scheme, which involved recruiting individuals to create Worldcoin accounts and selling them for cash. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong has cautioned consumers about dealing with offers related to Worldcoin accounts, as they could be misused by third parties and pose risks to consumers.
