Shiba Inu's lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has revealed that scammers have been exploiting his interactions with the SHIB community. These scammers reach out to SHIB enthusiasts and offer them money to purchase their accounts, which Kusama follows. They then use these accounts to promote fake tokens, particularly TREAT. Kusama has expressed frustration with this and urged the community to only rely on official channels for information. To combat this, he plans to engage in discussions about the TREAT token with key opinion leaders to ensure they are fully briefed. The team is also working on implementing a Karma and Reputation system to expose bad actors and reward good behavior within the community. Scammers have been using various tactics, including promoting fake airdrops and creating counterfeit tokens, to exploit members of the Shiba Inu community. The Shiba Inu team has consistently warned users that the TREAT token has not been launched yet, and any claim of affiliation with the project is fake.
