In a recent interview, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse claimed that the 2024 election was a major victory for the cryptocurrency industry. He highlighted the success of Fairshake, a crypto political action committee (PAC), in backing candidates who won their seats. Garlinghouse emphasized that this was a non-partisan effort, as cryptocurrency itself is non-partisan. He mentioned that the industry supported both Republicans and Democrats in congressional races, with an astonishing 85% success rate. Furthermore, Garlinghouse suggested that cryptocurrency played a role in the election of Democratic senators in Michigan and Arizona. He also noted that a pivotal moment was when then-Republican candidate Donald Trump embraced crypto, despite previously stating that he was not a fan. Garlinghouse concluded that it was evident that Trump embraced crypto and vice versa.
