Ripple Labs has partnered with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to improve charitable aid distribution by leveraging blockchain technology. As part of the collaboration, Ripple will commit $1 million annually for several years and test its RLUSD stablecoin for cash relief programs and international fund transfers. The IRC, which has a strong track record in providing emergency assistance globally, plans to use its operational experience in conjunction with Ripple's technology to revolutionize the delivery of social aid during disasters. The partnership will utilize Ripple's XRP Ledger and RLUSD stablecoin to enhance the speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of cash relief programs, with a focus on regions with limited banking access. Through this collaboration, Ripple and the IRC aim to explore the potential of blockchain technology in solving global challenges in aid distribution and set an example for future partnerships between tech firms and humanitarian organizations.
