Ripple's chief legal officer, Stuart Alderoty, has outlined strategies for the incoming leadership of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding crypto regulation. Alderoty recommended ending non-fraud-related crypto litigation, fostering collaboration by keeping certain SEC commissioners in their roles, and developing clear and straightforward crypto rules in partnership with Congress and financial regulators. He also called for the renouncement of certain past SEC speeches and frameworks, increased transparency in the Freedom of Information Act process, and addressing past SEC issues. Furthermore, SEC Chair Gary Gensler's resignation has been met with optimism in the crypto community, with hopes of a more innovation-friendly regulatory environment. The SEC had previously sued Ripple Labs, alleging the unauthorized sale of XRP tokens as unregistered securities. Alderoty believes that Ripple's efforts provided a blueprint to overcome Gensler's "war on crypto" and expressed gratitude for the support of the XRP community.
