Ripple CTO David Schwartz clarified speculation about the RLUSD stablecoin, suggesting that it may initially only be accessible to institutions. In response to a user's question, Schwartz compared RLUSD to other stablecoins like USDC and USDT, stating that those stablecoins are also primarily available to institutions. He addressed concerns about manipulation and emphasized that it is unlikely to occur once RLUSD is being used for value transfer. RLUSD is currently in private beta testing, and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse hinted that its release is imminent. Ripple aims to expand into institutional and DeFi markets with RLUSD, and it will be fully backed by USD reserves. In addition to RLUSD, Ripple plans to introduce more programmability to the XRPL ecosystem in the future.
