Attorney Fred Rispoli has provided an analysis of the potential timeline for the SEC v. Ripple appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. The SEC recently filed an appeal notice, and Rispoli expects the commission to file its appeal brief by December 2, 2025, or potentially request a 30-day extension. He also anticipates Ripple to cross-appeal, with its opening appeal brief due around the same time as the SEC's. The parties would then file their opposition briefs by February/March 2026, followed by replies by the end of March 2026. Oral arguments are expected to take place between September and October 2025, and Rispoli predicts that the Appellate Court's ruling could be issued by early 2026, possibly by January or March/April. Attorney Jeremy Hogan also expects the ruling during late 2025 or early 2026.
