Ammon Simon, previously counsel to SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, has been appointed Chief Counsel for the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. His previous experience includes focusing on regulatory policies for crypto assets and emerging financial technologies, facilitating dialogue between the SEC and industry stakeholders, and providing guidance on financial market regulations. Simon's appointment comes as the Senate Banking Committee is working on legislative initiatives to integrate digital assets into traditional financial systems and addressing regulatory frameworks for the crypto sector.
