Oklahoma is one step closer to allowing employees to receive wages in Bitcoin, with a new legislative proposal, Senate Bill 325 (SB 325), advancing to the committee stage. The bill aims to provide government workers and residents with the option to accept salary payments in Bitcoin. This proposal is part of a broader trend among U.S. states exploring Bitcoin integration into public financial systems. Another crypto-related measure, House Bill 1203, known as the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act, has also been introduced in Oklahoma, aiming to allow state pension funds and savings accounts to allocate a portion of their holdings to Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation. Several other states, including Pennsylvania and Texas, have also introduced similar proposals to incorporate Bitcoin into their financial reserves.
