The sales of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) declined by 38.97% in January 2025 compared to December 2024, according to data from cryptoslam.io. Despite this, Ethereum led in sales with $340.47 million, although transactions on the Ethereum blockchain decreased by 36.58%. Bitcoin NFT sales came in second place with $111.75 million and saw a drop of 40.90% compared to December. Solana secured the third position with $81.56 million in sales, a decrease of 26.65%. Only one blockchain, Base, experienced an increase in overall sales in January, with a leap of 293.19%. The top five NFT collections by sales were Azuki, Pudgy Penguins, Dmarket, Cryptopunks, and BRC20 NFTs. Azuki had the most positive performance, with a 41.92% increase in sales and a 96.83% rise in transactions. The top five NFT sales included Cryptopunk #6472, Kreating Colourblind, Boogle #007, Piggybox #13463449, and Abstract Beings By Memphis #520. The future of NFTs remains uncertain, with skepticism lingering and concerns about lasting momentum in 2025.
