The self-proclaimed libertarian state of Liberland is set to hold its congressional elections on January 4. Unlike traditional elections, Liberland will conduct the entire voting process using blockchain technology, ensuring decentralization and tamper-proof voting. The candidates include Justin Sun, co-founder of TRON blockchain, who aims to run a minimalist government, Evan Luthra, Liberland's IT Minister, who plans to overhaul the nation's digital systems, Karnika E. Yashwant, a blockchain veteran promising easier citizenship processes and better communication, and Samuela Davidova, who aims to streamline foreign relations and empower citizens. The election will be followed by an online debate the day prior to allow citizens to hear from the 15 candidates. Liberland's Congress currently has seven members, and the election will determine the next lineup, with each term lasting only three months to maintain a fast-moving government.
