Ishiba plans to discuss the matter with US President Donald Trump at a summit meeting on February 7. The move aims to prevent China from dominating the AI field. Trump has surprised his supporters by announcing a $500 billion joint venture into AI called "Stargate," involving Softbank Group, OpenAI, and Oracle. Japan also has plans to govern and surveil the populace with massive AI infrastructure. There are concerns about privacy and centralization of state control.
