A study has shown that the number of Italian cryptocurrency holders has increased by 118% from 2019 to 2024, with over 4 million Italians converting to crypto trading. Italy ranks 21st globally and 7th in Europe in terms of percentage increase in crypto users. Other European countries with significant growth in crypto holders include Germany, Portugal, Finland, France, Hungary, and Sweden. Compared to India, which added over 200 million new crypto holders, and Indonesia, which added 56 million, Italy's growth remains relatively modest. Another study predicts that by 2024, there will be 13 million Italians interested in crypto, but the number of crypto holders is expected to decrease by 11% compared to 2023. The majority of Italian crypto holders have capital investments of less than 5,000 euros, with 57% holding less than 1,000 euros. The Italian Blockchain & Web3 market is projected to be worth 40 million euros in 2024, a 5% increase from 2023.
