The U.S. government could potentially take control of XRP tokens in Ripple's escrow without the usual unlock process, according to Vet, a prominent XRPL dUNL Validator. This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed plans to establish a crypto asset reserve with XRP and other tokens. Vet suggests that Ripple could transfer the ownership of its escrow to the U.S. government or another entity in a single transaction, effectively giving full control over the assets. However, this method would require the transfer of all 37.7 billion XRP tokens in escrow. The transaction would be public and trackable, but doubts have been raised about the likelihood of such a transfer due to the enormous value of Ripple's XRP in escrow.
