Ripple has announced that its long-awaited stablecoin, RLUSD, is ready to be deployed. The actual number of minted tokens has reached nearly $66 million, with the majority on the Ethereum network. The stablecoin, backed by US dollars and other assets, will support cross-border payments, DeFi integration, and bridging between fiat and crypto. Ripple aims to enter the competitive stablecoin market, which is currently dominated by Tether and Circle. The stablecoin's launch follows approval from the New York Department of Financial Services and the addition of two new members to its advisory board.
