Mohammed AlKaff AlHashmi, co-founder of HAQQ Network, believes that Indonesia has the potential to become the largest crypto hub in Asia. This is due to the country's rapid economic growth, large population size, and its status as the largest Muslim country in the world. AlHashmi also praises Indonesia's regulatory environment, stating that it is flexible enough to enable projects to thrive while still protecting the community. HAQQ Network has received regulatory approval for its native token, the Islamic Coin, and is already available on a local Indonesian crypto exchange. The network is in talks with the Indonesian Financial Services Authority to further establish its presence in the country. AlHashmi sees the large percentage of unbanked or underbanked individuals in Indonesia as an untapped market that could benefit from using decentralized blockchain technologies, particularly ones that are compliant with Islamic laws. HAQQ Network plans to introduce a range of crypto products in Indonesia, including a system for making Zakat donations through the blockchain. The network has already implemented pilot programs in collaboration with various entities in Indonesia, and AlHashmi hopes that these initiatives will encourage wider crypto adoption in the country.
