Germany has founded the Bitcoin Federal Association in the Bundestag, with the goal of lobbying for Bitcoin legislation and positively influencing the Bitcoin ecosystem in Germany and the EU. The association was officially founded with 50 members present, and it plans to join the German lobby register. The BTCBV elected Philipp J.A. Hartmannsgruber as chairman, Daniel Wingen as vice-chairman, and Matthias Steger as finance director. The German government used to hold 46,359 BTC, but it liquidated all of its holdings in 2024.
