Former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky has requested a one-month postponement of his trial, citing the complexity of the proceedings and the volume of material that needs to be reviewed. Mashinsky's legal team has asked for extensions for deadlines related to the presentence investigation report and have proposed a new sentencing date of May 8, 2025. The defense argues that the extensive nature of the report and late disclosure of victim impact statements require more time for review. The government and probation Office have not objected to these adjustments. Celsius was also in the news recently for fighting to reopen its $444 million claim against FTX.
