The small town of Berlín in El Salvador has become the country's second Bitcoin city, following El Zonte. With a population of 20,000, Berlín boasts 150 businesses that accept payments in BTC, making it one of the largest Bitcoin circular economies in the world. The town is home to the Bitcoin Community Center, which offers various amenities such as a cafeteria, classroom, and podcast recording room. Unlike El Zonte, Berlín has yet to attract tourists, so the use of Bitcoin for everyday purchases is predominantly by Salvadorans themselves. The adoption rate is increasing, with 3-5 new people visiting the Bitcoin Community Center each week. Additionally, El Salvador recently hosted the first Plan ₿ Forum, which promoted the country as a center for financial innovation and featured the unveiling of a second statue of Satoshi Nakamoto. USDT's integration into the Bitcoin and Lightning Network ecosystem was also announced at the event.
