A Dutch court has ordered cryptocurrency exchange Binance to reveal the identity of an account holder involved in a €186,000 scam. The victim, who was targeted through a dating app, lost the money through fraudulent cryptocurrency investments. The scam, referred to as "pig butchering," involves gaining the trust of victims before stealing their funds. The victim sought the assistance of a digital forensics firm, which traced part of the stolen funds to a Binance account. Binance complied with freezing the account but refused to disclose personal information without a court order. The court ruled in favor of the victim, ordering Binance to provide the account holder's full name, address, and asset statement.
