CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju has expressed concerns about South Korea's readiness to approve spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). He compared the country's regulatory climate to that of Gary Gensler, the Chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), suggesting that this environment could delay ETF approval. South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) has been rejecting ETFs linked to digital assets, leading to skepticism about the current regulatory framework. Ju believes that ETF approval may not move forward until there is a change in leadership within the Korean SEC. He also criticized South Korea's unfriendly stance towards Bitcoin and the lack of understanding among its leaders. Despite this, South Korean citizens remain active participants in the crypto market.
