Crypto wallet-draining service Inferno has handed over control of its platform to rival provider Angel Drainer, potentially signaling a more dangerous phase in the crypto-draining ecosystem. Blockchain security firm Scam Sniffer reported the handover, with Inferno expressing confidence in Angel's ability to manage the drainer. Wallet drainers provide scammers with phishing tools in exchange for a cut of stolen funds, resulting in the theft of $295 million from 324,000 victims in 2023 alone. Some experts have raised concerns over the similarity between Angel and Inferno's code and security structures, suggesting an attempt to deceive users.
