Trump's nominee for Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, is a well-known cryptocurrency advocate who believes in the potential of crypto to revolutionize finance. Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick, Trump's pick for Commerce Secretary, is reportedly in talks with Tether, the largest stablecoin operator, for a $2 billion lending initiative. Trump's proposal to create the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) has drawn attention from crypto bulls, including Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who wish to be involved. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse praised Trump for nominating Bessent, and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong met with Trump and is interested in joining his Bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory council. Other entrepreneurs are also seeking seats on the council.
