Faryar Shirzad, Coinbase's policy boss, believes that Donald Trump's return to the Oval Office will accelerate cryptocurrency regulation in the United States. Shirzad referred to Trump as the most pro-crypto leader in history and stated that with Republicans holding the majority in Congress, crypto bills are expected to gain traction. Two significant bills are already in the pipeline, including the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act, which focuses on regulating and managing cryptocurrencies, and the Clarity for Payment Stablecoins Act, which aims to establish a licensing system for stablecoin issuers. The crypto industry has shown strong support for Trump, with crypto-related PACs raising over $245 million during the election cycle. Furthermore, the departure of SEC Chair Gary Gensler, known for crackdowns on crypto, on January 20 aligns with Trump's vision of choosing individuals who support his policies.
