Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has criticized the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for funding a book that links Bitcoin to right-wing extremism. The book, titled "Cyberlibertarianism: The Right-Wing Politics of Digital Technology," was authored by David Golumbia and received over $80,000 in funding from the U.S. government. Hoskinson expressed his frustration on social media, calling the portrayal of Bitcoin in the book "garbage." This controversy comes at a time when USAID is facing scrutiny and a funding freeze under the Trump administration. The criticism by Hoskinson highlights the ongoing debate surrounding how Bitcoin is portrayed and the role of government funding in cryptocurrency research.
