Chainlink has announced the launch of its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) v1.5 upgrade on the mainnet. This upgrade allows developers to easily transfer tokens and messages across different blockchains in a self-serve manner. The CCIP v1.5 introduces the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, providing developers with full control and ownership, enhanced programmability, and zero-slippage transfers. The upgrade also includes the CCIP Token Manager, which offers a streamlined interface for deploying and managing CCTs. The CCIP will also help increase access to bridged USDC and accelerate DeFi adoption across multiple chains. The price of Chainlink's native token, LINK, saw a 6% increase following the announcement.
