The Central Bank of Brazil has acknowledged that none of the privacy and anonymity solutions tested in the first phase of its digital currency pilot, known as drex, met the project's needs. Three solutions were examined but all were found to hide transactions from authorities, undermining the ability to monitor suspicious activity and ensure compliance with laws. The bank states that finding a solution to this issue is a priority, but new proposals will not be included in the second phase of the pilot.
