Prominent extremist and white supremacist groups, including Turning Point USA (TPUSA), have used Cash App to attract donations despite the platform's anti-hate and bullying policies. Cash App's terms of service prohibit users from uploading "hateful or harmful" content, but do not specify which groups are prohibited. TPUSA, a right-wing activist group, has attracted members who are racists, anti-Muslims, and white supremacists. TPUSA has actively promoted conspiracy theories and extreme policies. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) found that at least six extremists used Cash App last year, including the anti-Semitic group Goyim Defence League (GDL) and white supremacist news outlet Red Ice TV. Other extremist groups such as Occidental Dissent have also used Cash App to solicit donations. Cash App is currently being investigated by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network over allegations that it does not perform adequate know-your-customer checks.
