Worldcoin, a controversial project that rewards users in cryptocurrency for scanning their eyes, has been banned in Brazil by the country's data regulator. The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) ordered a clampdown last month, citing concerns over the influence on consumer behavior and the lack of consent for processing biometric data. Worldcoin, now known as the World project, had requested 45 days to make changes to its app but was denied. The project has 10 business days to confirm that crypto payouts have been suspended. The initiative has also raised concerns in the European Union.
