Bitcoin experienced fluctuations over the weekend, reaching a multi-week peak of nearly $100,000 before dropping again. Ethereum remained above $3,600, and Solana stayed above $210. Bitcoin began the previous week on a negative note but saw a surge on New Year's Eve and maintained its run over the weekend. As of now, bitcoin is at around $99,000 with a market cap above $1.960 trillion. Most larger-cap altcoins did not see significant movements, but Avalanche was a top performer, rising by almost 5%. The total crypto market cap has increased by around $30 billion and is now at $3.680 trillion.
