This surge came after MicroStrategy's latest purchase of Bitcoin, which was unexpected given previous patterns. After previous bullish acquisitions by MicroStrategy, the price of Bitcoin had dropped, but this time, it quickly rebounded and reached its highest price since December 19. MicroStrategy bought 1,070 BTC for $101 million, a more modest purchase compared to previous multi-billion dollar purchases. However, the company plans to raise another $2 billion to accumulate more Bitcoin.
