The situation has been exacerbated by the recent 10% tariff on Chinese imports, which came into effect on February 1. This comes at a time when Bitmain's co-founder, Zhan Ketuan, is facing pressure from U.S. authorities over his AI company, Sophgo, which was blacklisted in January. Despite these challenges, Bitmain announced plans for a new facility in the U.S. in December.
