Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive who has been detained in Nigeria since February, has been denied bail by a Nigerian judge. Gambaryan, who is the head of financial crime compliance at the crypto exchange, was charged with tax evasion and money laundering, although the tax charges were later dropped. Gambaryan's attorneys filed a new bail application due to his deteriorating medical condition, citing the need for urgent medical assistance that cannot currently be provided in prison. Gambaryan has developed various health complications during his time in prison, including malaria, pneumonia, and tonsillitis, and he requires surgery for a herniated disc in his back. Gambaryan's wife expressed frustration and disappointment with the denial of bail and stated that she will continue fighting for her husband's release.
